acting problems……please help!!!!!?
im 13, and i really wanna be an actress. but i live in michigan so i dont know any agencys, and my school doesnt have a drama club, and my city doesnt have community theatre…… please email me @ sweetandspicychik@yahoo.com for some help……oh and my names jade
You need training and experience before you go looking for an agent. If your city doesn’t have a theatre then go a city or 2 or 3 or 4 over until you find some Get the calendar section of your weekend paper and see what productions are playing at which theatres and look up their websites. See if they have audition information listed on their sites and if not, call them and ask them where they put that information out.
Those theatres may also have classes available so make sure to look for that info as well. Theatres aren’t the only resource. Check out www.backstage.com (casting search) and www.actorsaccess.com (set up a free account) then check out the breakdowns to see if there’s anything near you.
You can also see if your state has a film alliance / commission / society or whatever your state calls theirs (some have more than one). Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally. They may also have info on classes. Just do a web search for Michigan film and see what you get!
good luck!
